I’ve always been a fanatic TOP-list guy. Since I was a kid I’ve been doing lots of those lists about all possible topics. Usually the lists were about movies or music. So the deal is I want to celebrate the time of my childhood and list the best rock movies of all time. The only problem is what to define as a ”rock movie”? I was about to put Blues Brothers here but in a way it’s more a comedy and rhytm & blues movie than a portrayal about rock and roll. So this isn’t that easy after all (or actually it is but I decided to put only the five best here) Be creative and join the conversation and post your own list!

1. Almost Famous (2000)
Sure, it’s a classic pick but it’s got all the right vibes!
2. Cry-Baby (1990)
Is this a rock movie? Sure hell it is. It’s a rock’n’ roll fairytale and it has great songs and Johnny Depp’s beautiful babyface (James Intveld does the vocal parts).
3. The Doors (1991)
Is it Val Kilmer or Jim Morrison, that I would like to know. Probably the best ever made rock biography.
4. The Kids Are Alright (1979)
This is not a movie – it’s the real deal. The Who and some breathtaking film material.
5. The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
The main issue is that in rock musicals the songs are usually boring. Not this time. Fabulous soundtrack, awesome characters and the glamorous 1970′s vibe.
