You heard it right. Huge news! Daniel left the band actually a month ago already but we didn’t want to rush by announcing it too early. Sure it’s tragic news but in a way we had it coming for a long time. There’s no exact reason why but I guess Daniel felt he just had to do it. Obviously there was a lack of interest goin’ on and logistic issues too – Daniel lives in Pietarsaari and the rest of us are located in Helsinki. The distance is about 500 kilometres so the actual practising got a bit too hard. In a way this is a classic situation. It happens pretty often that one of the band members quits during the time of the release of the debut album. For example Pete Best left The Beatles and I’m pretty sure he regret his decision afterwards. Sure I hope Daniel wouldn’t regret his decision… well actually I do ’cos we have a great band and it’s a shame that Daniel decided to leave. Shit happens ladies and babies. You’re able to enjoy Daniel’s skills and musicianship in his fabulous soloproject Stilla.
So what now? As some of you probably knows Daniel was in Århus, Denmark last spring as an exchange student. During that half year we had a spare guy, Jyri in the drummers seat. So for now Jyri goes on his duty ’til we find a new drummer. You may know Jyri from several other band projects for example his main band Wiidakko. They released a new single ”Seis seis seis” few weeks ago.
